Buyer - Purchasing Clerk
Our client is looking for an experienced Buyer to join their team.
This is a great opportunity to join a small but well established contract manufacturer in Orlando. The role would suit someone familiar with the defense industry and electro-optical/mechanical manufacturing.
The Buyer role with this organization participates in all functions related to contract manufacturing procurement and planning beginning with analysis of requirements, soliciting and evaluating proposals, sourcing and qualifying suppliers, negotiating pricing, managing scheduling, tracking contract Bills of Materials (BOM) to purchase orders, purchase order maintenance and close-out in Oracle ERP system, vendor relationships (domestic and international), and management of returns, rework, and warranties.

- Bills of materials
- Analyze requirements for complex sub-assemblies
- Develop competitive sources of supply based on vendors’ qualifications
- Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, terms and conditions
- Develop and maintain robust, ethical supplier relationships
- Prefered: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Education and or experience
- Four year degree
- Minimum 1-2 years in Procurement or Supply Chain Management
- Experience in manufacturing and have an understanding of the machinery that are used in manufacturing.
- Experience in reading blueprints and understanding of machine shops and their capabilities will also be considered.
- An understanding of electronics, specifically basic printed circuit boards, wire harnesses and sheet metal.
- CPIM or CPM a plus
- FARS and DFARS a plus
- Oracle ERP or equivalent a must
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications software & databases.
- Defense industry experience is a plus.
- Internal Auditor Certification a plus.
- Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
- Must be authorized to work in the US and be eligible to obtain a passport.
- Must pass Security background screening process.
